2nd-tier (sub-affiliate) commissions
Anderro supports an optional two-level override:
- Tier 1 (direct) — the attributing affiliate earns the normal product commission.
- Tier 2 (override) — that affiliate's sponsor earns a smaller override on the same sale, calculated from the sale amount.
Depth stops at two levels. There is no Tier 3+.
Enable on a product
In the business dashboard open the product → Commission tab:
- Turn on 2nd-tier (sub-affiliate) override
- Choose percentage or fixed, and set the value
- Review the live example (affiliate + sponsor cost on a $100 sale)
- Save
Default is off. Existing programs are unchanged until you enable it.
How sponsors are assigned
- Recruit link — affiliates copy a recruit link from Affiliate → Links (
/join/{slug}?sponsor={referralCode}). When someone joins with that link, the recruiter becomes their sponsor. - Business assign — on Business → Affiliates, use Sponsor to assign or clear a sponsor for a partnership (same product only).
Guards: same product, active sponsor, no self-sponsor, no A↔B cycles, test partnerships cannot sponsor.
Payment behavior
On each attributed live payment:
- Always create Tier 1 for the attributing partnership (if amount > 0)
- If the product has Tier 2 enabled and the attributing partnership has an active sponsor → also create Tier 2 for the sponsor
- The sponsor earns no override when the buyer's email is the sponsor's own email, even when the direct affiliate is different
- Both rows share the same hold period and can pay out independently into each partnership's payouts
- Refunds claw back both rows; rejecting a conversion rejects all linked commissions
Sandbox payments never create commissions (unchanged).
API & webhooks
Commission list/get responses include:
level—1(direct) or2(override)parent_commission_id— set on Tier 2 rows
commission.created / commission.refunded webhooks include commission_level and parent_commission_id. One commission.created event is emitted per row.
Reporting notes
- Business dashboard Commissions KPI is total program cost (Tier 1 + Tier 2), with a Direct / Override subtitle when overrides exist
- Leaderboards rank on direct (level 1) earnings only
- Affiliate dashboard shows Direct vs Override when the affiliate has override earnings
